Our story

Dear friends,

I am Christoph Beutekamp, the director of International Film Festival OnlyShorts in Munich. It brings me great pleasure to share the story of our festival with you.

The idea for OnlyShorts came to me when I was a young film enthusiast, working at a local cinema in Munich. It was there that I discovered my passion for short films and independent cinema. Over the years, I had the opportunity to meet many filmmakers and saw how they struggled to get their work recognized and appreciated by a wider audience.

That's when I decided to create a platform that would give independent filmmakers a chance to showcase their talent and connect with like-minded people. The first edition of OnlyShorts took place in 2022, and since then, we've been growing year by year.

At OnlyShorts, we believe that every film is a work of art that deserves recognition and appreciation. That's why we take great care in selecting the best films for our festival, and we offer a range of awards to recognize the hard work and talent of our participants.
